Carl Jung

Carl Jung is best known for his pioneering work in analytical psychology. He was born on the 26th of July 1875 in Kesswil, Switzerland. His father was a parson. His mother was said by Jung to be in touch with the spirit world. His paternal grandfather, who he was named after, was thought to be Goethe's illegitimate son. This turned out to be false, or at least unproven. Johann von Goethe was the author of Faust.

He was an only child for nine years until the birth of his sister. But he wasn't the first born. His parents first child, Paul, died a few days after his birth in August 1873.

A Life of JungHe grew up in the country and was somewhat isolated. This didn't stop him from having an amazing imagination and an active inner world. He lived his early life in secret, supposedly because of some strange dreams that he couldn't come to terms with. I don't wan't to describe the dreams because it might put you off my writing. If you're really interested you can of course look it up on wikipedia. Or if you can't find it there you can find it in a book called A Life Of Jung by Ronald Hayman.
